Burst test.
The burst test is a practical verification method of the design calculations and quality of the new products each time they are introduced on the market. In other words a burst test is carried out on a new product that is assembled and welded to the other pertinent parts represented in the above configuration. Once welded in place, increasing internal pressure is applied and under the effect of the ramp-up of this load, the new product despite the pressure applied will remain functional and without any residual significant strain even when the adjacent parts will yield and collapse. This burst test naturally validates the calculation method that has been adopted for the design of these new products. |
