Viar and sport

Viar and sport, two words followed by a world. Or in the middle of the world, the one that became part of our way of being: from a sweet butterfly to carbon horse, reaching that fresco of nature called Lake of Varese.

If volley is a local sport turned into a global one, the world motorcycle championship is the quintessence of internationalism. We started in 2008, since when the name Viar has been roaring, bending on the motorcycles of the LCR Honda Team. LCR is the acronym for Lucio Cecchinello Racing, the former pilot who established the partnership as early as 1996. When, to tell the truth, he was still competing on his motorbike where he remained until 2003. Supported by the Japanese Honda, he has the honour of having his own official motorcycle: this is not a foregone conclusion for a private partnership.
Starting from the 125cc class, he made his apprentice in the 250cc. In 2005 the big leap forward when he arrived to MotoGP leading team. Many important pilots get into the saddles that are also owned by Viar: from a young Casey Stoner to Carlos Checa, from Randy De Puniet to the current captains Cal Crutchlow and Jack Miller, the former mounted the podium in the 2015 championship.
The absolutely fascinating MotoGP is indirectly linked to our Oil & Gas sector: Viar is present among the most important oil companies. Sport as contact. A continuous challenge using technology, research and development: precisely ours,  to the best of our knowledge and belief, with enterprise.

The province of Varese dominates thanks to many sports realities, both individually and as a team. Rowing shares the two features and has in the lake of Varese one of the most important attraction poles in the world. Here the countries with a greater tradition, starting with England, train; here the Australian Olympic Committee has its European headquarters, with a futuristic centre in Lido di Gavirate. Here, surrounded by the charm of the pre-alpine scenery, we find Canottieri Varese, founded in 1927 and sponsored by Viar since 2014. In 2012 the competition field of the yellow-blue team hosted the European Championship, the World Master Regatta the following year and, in 2014, the Under 23 World Championship. Since 2015 it has been hosting a competition of the World Cup. Rowing means silence and passion, effort and satisfaction: it is thought and liberation, surrounded by nature. Water and earth, fire and air, these are the elements. It is a masterpiece of irrational romanticism. To Viar, it is the possibility to help the territory at best by respecting its essence.
